4 weeks!

Sadie is a month old today! It's amazing to see the changes in her over the past 4 weeks. She enjoys going for car rides, looking at herself in the mirror, making faces, smiling and talking (she has a lot to say!). She's also starting to outgrow her newborn clothes and, much to my delight, is starting to develop fat sleeves! She has quite the personality already and we can't wait to see what the next month holds!

Major Dad

Derek promoted to Major yesterday. Quite a few people were on hand to celebrate but, while we're all very proud of him, someone else kind of stole the show. Even though she slept through the entire thing.

Cover Girl

Sadie had her first photo shoot last week - at 4 days old. She loved it! She was awake for almost the entire two hours, quietly observing the excitement and graciously humoring us all . . . even in a pink tutu.

Sadie's First Week

Sadie turned 1 week old on Saturday! Despite the many diaper changes and late-night feedings (or maybe because of them!), time has flown by.

The week was filled with many firsts . . . first car ride , first sponge bath (a little traumatic . . . more so for me than for Sadie), first doctor's visit, and first walk (sorry, Midwest friends, but it's been sunny and in the 50s here all week!). She had her first SuperBowl party on Sunday, too, with our good friends - Saints fans, but we still love them - the Colliers.

Sadie seems to be a happy, mellow little girl who loves to take in the world around her.

Debut

As you may already know by now, Sadie Ann Rhinesmith made her grand entrance into the world on Saturday, January 30 at 8:15 am, weighing in at 6 lbs, 14 oz and measuring 19.5".

It's taken me awhile to post this (I apologize!) because, frankly, I haven't known what to say. From her first minute of life, Derek and I have been utterly wrecked by just how much we love her. We feel humbled and truly blessed that God has chosen us to parent this beautiful, amazing little being.

And I'm lost for words, again . . .
